A brutal crime shocked the citizens of Rio de Janeiro recently as a video camera record showed how a homeless woman, Zilda Henrique dos Santos Leandro, was killed cold-heartedly by a man that was walking by.
The unfortunate event occurred on Rua Barao de Amazonas in the central part of Rio de Janeiro, when the 31-year-old beggar, Zilda Henrique, asked for some money from a man that was passing by.
Reportedly, Henrique asked for just one real, which amounts to a little less than 25 cents, when the man paid her no attention initially.
However, after the homeless continued to follow the walker, as could be seen from the video, at some point he stopped, pulled a gun from his belt and shot at the unsuspecting woman, also known as Neia in the city, at least two times before tucking his arm back and going on his way.
The alleged killer was also caught on a different security camera, which showed him looking back at his victim a couple of times while calmly walking away.
The video also shows how Henrique tried to flee across the other side of the street but was unable to do so due to her wounds.
After the shooting, an unidentified woman saw the fallen Henrique and tried to call for help by reaching out to the passing vehicles.
Even though Zilda Henrique was immediately rushed to the Azevedo Lima State Hospital, she could not make it and was pronounced dead.
The murderer was later identified as Aderbal Ramos de Castro, and following his deed, he was detained and led to the Niteroi Police Station.
